UPDATE: I discovered Oct 4, 2013 that I made an error in setting up my contact form and apparently didn’t test it, so no form submissions were ever logged. So if you filled out a form and didn’t receive a response, this is why. I’d love the opportunity to assist you, and I apologize to anyone who contacted me up to this date. I would never ignore an email from my site … slimy spammers excepted. 🙂
A couple weeks ago I did an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on Inbound.org. In the discussion another marketers, Martin Macdonald asked about custom reports for small business owners. It got me thinking about ways to possibly help small business owners who don’t have access to analysts and may never have an in-house analyst to help them decipher their Google Analytics data.
So what I decided to do as a beta project is open up a forum where blog visitors can request a custom report or advanced segment. You tell me what you need to see in a single report. If it’s something that I think others might also benefit from, I’ll pull it together and publish both a link to the custom report template (or advanced segment) and a basic overview of how I made it.
Caveat: I’m a marketer, not a missionary. I’m not volunteering to do a bunch of analytics work for free. I probably won’t be able to reply to every request. If it’s too much or needs too much clarification, I’ll most likely just move on to one that’s more reasonable. If you’re looking for a reporting dashboard, I offer that as a service. This is specifically for creating one-off custom reports and advanced segments in Google Analytics.

UPDATE: My friend and fellow analyst, Yehoshua Coren, made an excellent point in the comments below. You can also find lots of great custom reports and advanced segments (dashboards too!) from Jill Whalen’s Custom Report Sharing site. I’ve shared some resources there.
